A hard earned goal less draw for mens 7th against Chapeltown 3rd in no small part due another great performance from Lewis Birch in goal
We started half an hour late after the A57 Mosborough bypass was closed after a bad accident , which they were still sorting as we came home . A number of our players had to take diversions with various degrees of success depending on their satnav
Two teams who bore a lot of similarities to last weeks game against their 2nd team!!
Good performances from our five under 14s. Toby Perberdy and Will Pitchfork in defence alongside Wasim , John Tidy and Barry Jackson , Joe Highland ably supported by Chris Lacey and Nick Bettles in midfield with Kai Haste-Wain , Adam Brindle ,making a welcome return , and Nigel Ward and myself up front again
Although Lewis was the most active goalkeeper we did create some chances and had as many short corners as the opposition . Some really good moves when we looked to move the ball around quickly and we held an older and more physical team well.
Thanks to Marni for managing the substitutions
Chapeltown rememberd to order th food this time and nearly everyone stayed and enjoyed a chat and chip butties and sausage at the Belfry
