Sheffield ladies 2s 12 - 1 Harrogate 2s

After a comprehensive win at york last week, the ladies 2nds were at abbeydale for their 1st home game of the season.

Focusing on the positives from york of moving the ball well around the pitch and suffocating the opposition with the high press, Sheffield did the exact opposite for the 1st 20 mins of the game which led to a frustrating passage of play. However after winning a short corner in the 24th min, the back to injector routine worked a charm with Marcie Dunbar slotting away the 1st goal of the game. This woke Sheffield from their slumber and all of the sudden the ball was moved around at a high tempo, which led to 4 goals in 9 minutes from Maddie, El and Becca with 2 to end the half 5-0 to the team in red.

Sheffield in high spirits after the goal splurge came out flying in the 2nd half and another 4 goals were added within the 1st ten mins of the 2nd half, Becca scoring a further 3 and El adding 1 more to her tally.

To Harrogates credit they never gave up and were rewarded with a goal mid way into the 2nd half. Sheffield stepped up another gear for the final 15 mins and added a further 3 goals with Becca grabbing her 6th of the game, Alex bagged one from a short corner and debutant Lillian rounded off the scoring with a straight strike off the final short corner of the game. A resounding win and a healthy goal difference after 2 games onto next week.
