New men's Performance Coach Announced.

Welcome Kieran Heath.
New men's Performance Coach.

After a thorough recruitment process, we’re delighted to confirm the appointment of Kieran Heath as Men’s Performance Head Coach for the coming season.

Kieran has extensive playing and coaching experience. He represented Leek in the National League as a teenager before joining the Armed Forces. He subsequently played at National League level in both The Netherlands and Belgium, which is where he developed his coaching skills. At Hattemse MHC Kieran was responsible for the co-ordination of coaching club-wide, organising and mentoring 35 coaches on a weekly basis. He then moved to Belgium where, over a 4-year period, he was Head Coach for both Men’s and Ladies National League sides (at KHC Brugge and Arlon HC respectively) whilst continuing to play at a high level.

Since his return to the UK Kieran has been Head Coach for both Durham City Men and Newcastle Ladies at Yorkshire & NE Prem level, and has delivered the BUCS programme for Northumbria University. He is also a lead coach at the Durham TA.
Kieran will be relocating to Sheffield from Durham and will build other elements of coaching into what will be a full time role at Sheffield.

When asked about Kieran's appointment, SHC Head of Performance, Duncan Longson said, “I am delighted to welcome Kieran to the club and look forward to working together to build a successful Men’s Performance programme and establish Sheffield as the destination of choice for ambitious and talented young hockey players in the region.”

Kieran commented, "I'm really looking forward joining a well-established National League club with a rich history. It's a great opportunity and challenge to help lead this group back to where they rightfully belong.
