Sheila was a student at Dartford College of Physical Education 1950 - 52. She went on to teach at Hunmanby Hall, Filey and then part time at Sheffield Girls High School

Sheila was an enthusiastic member of Sheffield Ladies Hockey Club and played in the 1950's and early 6o's with international players,Marion Straffen and Margaret Glossop.

Sheila gained representative honours playing for Yorkshire 1st XI and the North of England. Sheila was also an England trialist.

Sheila played tennis for the first team at Abbeydale and golf at Sickleholme Golf Club. Competitive thtrough and through Sheila joined Abbeydale Bowls Club and this Summer won one of the Club's internal competitions.

Sheila will be sadly missed by all who knew her at Abbeydale Sports Club.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday 1st November at 11.30am at St. Swithin’s Church, Holmesfield. Followed by a cremation. This will be followed by a wake at Abbeydale Sports Club.

We also heard of the passing of Linda Tate , wife of Geoff Tate, who left Shefield in the 1980s but was a regular club player in the 1960s and 70s.
