Sheffield Hockey Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Parr as Men’s Performance Squad Head Coach. A Level 2 qualified coach, Mike has previously led the Men’s First Team programmes at both City of York and Leeds Adel, and was also Head Coach at Salisbury Ladies. Mike is also a Yorkshire TA Coach within the England Hockey development system.

Mike said: “I’m excited to be leading Sheffield HC into the next stage on their journey. Working alongside the Committee, Longy and all the players I can’t wait to get started and embed systems and an identity”.

Duncan Longson, SHC’s Head of Performance said: “We are delighted to have made this appointment. Our aim is to re-establish Sheffield as the dominant force in Yorkshire and the North-East, and the development of a high-quality performance programme is central to that goal. Mike brings significant experience to the role, and in particular we have been impressed with the emphasis that he places on player development. I look forward to working closely with Mike and wish him success in his new role”.

The process to appoint a Ladies’ Performance Squad Head Coach is well underway, and the club expects to make an announcement on this in due course.
