ACTION REQUIRED: GMS CONSENT
All players required to give consent for new team sheet function.
As a dedicated player, and as a registered GMS user, we want to let you know about upcoming changes that are being applied to the GMS platform, and England Hockey websites.
Please see below for an urgent action you'll need to take before the season restarts in 2024.
England Hockey have been working hard throughout the year to ensure the GMS platform is stable and is functional on match days. This season so far, EH have been able to include new fixture and result tickers on the websites, and head-to-head comparisons against fixtures.
Moving forwards, EH would like to share team sheets, scorers, and cards on their websites. For the best experience, this would include your name on the website too.
This will benefit both players and hockey volunteers, giving our club greater visibility and profile, and providing a match centre experience for all fixtures and competitions.
The website would only show your name, no other personal information. See the example in the image above:
EH take the usage of data seriously and before your name is shared on EH websites, you need to provide consent – to ensure you are happy for your data to be handled in this way.
If you do not consent, your name will not be sent or shared on the website
If you do want to appear on the website (as shown above), you can provide consent quickly and easily through your GMS Profile.
Login by following the link CLICK HERE
From your home screen, click on your name in the top left-hand corner
On the next screen, select ‘Consents’ where you can opt-in or opt-out of your name appearing on the website
If you are the parent / carer of an U18 player, please follow the same process. Once you have logged into your profile, clicked ‘consents’, you will then be able to view and change the preferences for yourself and your child/dependent.
FAQ
What happens if I don't consent?
If you opt-out, or leave the boxes unchecked, your name will not appear on the websites, and it will show as ‘Withheld’ in any team sheets that are made public.
Can I change my consent?
You can opt-in or opt-out at any time, and the websites will reflect your preference at that time.
If you are happy to consent, please update GMS as soon as possible. EH are aiming to start showing the new Match Centres on websites early in the new year.
