M7’s won 8-0 vs bankers. After a disappointing couple of weeks, the 7’s arrived at Goodwin searching for a much needed win. The first 10 minutes was somewhat disappointing with the majority of the play being in the centre of the pitch. However, after they were reduced to 10 men for an issue that had to be seen to be believed, the 7’s were a whole new team. Spearheaded by the endless running of Mike Todd the 7’s took the lead through a well worked short corner, which Alex Wallace can be thanked for. Sheffield continued to press and managed to get 2 more goals at the end of the half. 3-0 may have flattered us slightly but we knew that if we kept at it we would score more. The second half couldn’t have gone better, the 10 man bankers fought valiantly but couldn’t contain the strong midfield of Sheffield led by Ben Brooke. Goals flowed in the second half and before we knew it we were 8-0 up and cruising. Some better finishing would have made it more but who can complain at 8-0.
All in all our best display this season and I couldn’t have asked more from the players. A rare hat-trick for Matt Davies as well as goals from Ben Brooke, Mike Todd, Elliott peat and Jacob Russel ended our winless run and put us back on the right track.

Mike Todd 1 goal open play
