The most important thing to remember this weekend is New Joiners' Drinks in the Abbeydale bar from 6.30pm on Saturday. If you can come down to welcome our new members or be welcomed as a new member.

The focus this week is on our women's first team. Playing against local rivals Doncaster at the usual time of 11:45am.

After a tough start to the season our girls are relatively happy with three points from three very tough opponents. Two 4-0 away defeats seem to be bad news but the scores don't reflect the close games accurately. The win at home two weeks ago showed that Wolfie has instilled some dog into the team. Doncaster will no doubt be another very good team so a victory tomorrow will be a huge marker to lay down. Our she wolves want to make Abbeydale a tough lair to take points away.

Club captain and 1st team defender, Kate Beesley told me, 'Our training session on Thursday was really intense. Each line worked really hard to recreate game conditions so we could solve a few issues that have come up this season. We are really up for game tomorrow and hope to do our home crowd proud. It really helps us keep going when we hear our supporters cheering us on. Doncaster always bring some very vocal support so I hope we can keep them quiet!'

The team is looking as strong as ever with nearly all the big guns playing, only Celine Schols and Lucy Mattocks are unavailable. The recruitment this season has really strengthened the women's club all the way to the 5th team who are enjoying playing each week nearly as much as being undefeated.

Good luck to all the teams this weekend. Play hard but fair and enjoy yourselves!
